Divers located the body of Clay Thomas Legg, 64, not far from the boat from which he had fallen, according to a press release from the Lufkin Police Department. A Diboll woman is in a Tyler hospital with life-threatening injuries after her husband allegedly beat her unconscious with a crowbar late Thursday, according to a press release from Angelina County Sheriff Tom Selman. Benjamin Munoz-Ruiz, 56, of Diboll, is currently being held in the Angelina County Jail on a charge of first-degree aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. His bond has been set at $150,000. Authorities have discovered a body in Nacogdoches County that is believed to be Michael "Mike" Allen, one of two local men who have been missing since late January, according to a press release from the Lufkin Police Department. Lufkin police, the Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office, the Angelina County Sheriff's Office and the Texas Rangers were processing the scene in the 5900 block of Old Tyler Road as of 5 p.m. Tuesday. An affidavit provided by the Angelina County Precinct 4 justice of the peace reveals details of the case against a Lufkin man arrested earlier this month on warrants for continuous sexual abuse of a child younger than 14 and seven counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child. Jerry Glenn Steptoe, 54, remains in the county jail with a collective bond of $4,000,500 set for those warrants and a charge of possession of less than 1 gram of suspected methamphetamine.

Authorities have been unable to locate the driver of a van that flipped off the road and onto an embankment on state Highway 103 Sunday afternoon, according to a report from the Texas Department of Public Safety. Around 5:06 p.m., a 2005 Chevrolet van was westbound on Highway 103, approximately 2 1/2 miles east of FM 1669, when it reportedly left the road to the right, overcorrected back to the left and struck the guardrail on the opposite side, the report states.
