As that upper-level wave pushes off to the east tonight, a ridge of high pressure starts building in from the Pacific. That means clearing skies and calming winds overnight. A weak system is pushing in from the Pacific, and with it comes some instability—both near the ground this afternoon and higher up overnight. That means we’ve got a slight chance (15–24%) of isolated, high-based thunderstorms or light showers, especially along a north-south line stretching from central Oregon through south-central Washington. If you’re east of that, like in the Columbia Basin or near the Blue Mountain foothills, the odds are lower—about 5–15%, mainly overnight.
