Here's what you can expect heading into the weekend and early next week:Things are mostly staying dry, but there is still a chance of some light showers Friday evening—mainly up in the Cascades and the Blue Mountain foothills. Don’t worry though, any rain should be pretty isolated and short-lived. By Saturday evening, we’re looking at clearing skies and the start of a dry stretch thanks to a high-pressure ridge building over the Pacific Northwest.

đ§ď¸ Today into Saturday: Rain, Snow (Mostly in the Mountains), and Breezy ConditionsThe weather pattern is shifting as an upper-level trough continues to move eastward across the Pacific Northwest. Itâs tilted northeast, which means moisture is pushing into the mountainsâand thatâs where most of the action will be. WA Cascades are likely to pick up the most precipitationâmodels show a 70â90% chance of picking up around 0.15 to 0.20 inches of rain, especially along the eastern slopes.

If you’re near the foothills of the Blue Mountains, especially from the Pendleton area down through Baker, you’ll want to hold onto your hats. A tightening surface pressure gradient is bringing in some breezy downsloping winds along the western slopes. Wind gusts are expected to reach 25–30 mph, with sustained winds in the 15–20 mph range. We’ve got a break in the action coming up as a ridge of high pressure builds in. That means drying skies and warming temperatures.
