RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Two weeks after Goats on the Go began their journey to help clear invasive plants and tall grass from an area of Dorothea Dix Park, the goats have completed their mission to make the large hill a safer landscape. In a collaborative effort with the City of Raleigh Parks Department, 32 lawn-mowing goats cleared the area that was full of bushy grass and weeds near a small playground in Dix Park.

LILLINGTON, N.C. (WNCN) — Deputies said Sunday that a birthday party Saturday took a tragic turn when shots stemming from a fight struck three people, killing one woman. According to the Harnett County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to a shooting around 11:30 p.m. Saturday on Bethea Road near Shawtown Road. Upon arrival, deputies said they found three shooting victims. Deputies said Harnett County EMS took a man and a woman to a nearby hospital for medical care.

According to the Durham Police Department, officers were called to a gunshot wound victim around 11 p.m. on the 1100 block of Linwood Avenue. Officers said they found an adult female who had been shot.
