    Caoimhin Kelleher says the decision to leave Liverpool was not a “very difficult” one as it was the right time to move one. The Republic of Ireland international signed for Brentford on Tuesday for an initial transfer fee of £12.5 million, which could rise to £18m if performance-related add-ons are met. After joining the Reds as a teenager, Kelleher stayed at Anfield for a decade, making 64 appearances in all competitions.

    Bayer Leverkusen have completed the signing of Mark Flekken, paving the way for Brentford to sign Caoimhin Kelleher from Liverpool in the summer transfer window. The Dutch goalkeeper leaves the Bees after two years at the club, moving for a transfer fee in the region of £11 million (€13m) inclusive of add-ons. Brentford signed Flekken for a similar amount from SC Freiburg in 2023 and he went on to keep 14 clean sheets in 74 Premier League starts.
