Sussan Ley has been elected as the Liberal Party's first female leader. On Tuesday, Ley became the most senior woman in the party's 80-year history, winning the party room vote 29 to 25 over Opposition Treasury spokesperson Angus Taylor. The mother-of-three is no stranger to high-profile roles, having previously held environment and health portfolios as well as the deputy Liberal leadership under Peter Dutton.
