Camp Smith Training Site, Cortlandt Manor, N.Y. – For Steven and Tabitha Demestrio having their daughter baptized by a military chaplain, at a military chapel, just made sense. So, on Sunday, Sept. 10, 2023, 16-month old Gianna Demestrio, the daughter of New York Army National Guard Sgt. 1st Class Steven Demestrio, and Spec. Tabitha Demestrio, was baptized by Chaplain (Capt.) Joseph Marcoux at the Guard’s Camp Smith Training Site near Peekskill, New York in the Hudson Valley.

CAMP SMITH TRAINING SITE, Cortlandt Manor, New York – Four Soldiers assigned to the 206th Military Police Company were the top scorers with 1,409 points, at the 44th Annual New York Army National Guard Combat Marksmanship Skills Competition, held at Camp Smith near Peekskill, Sept. 6-10, 2023. The top individual scorer for the competition, known as the Adjutant General’s Match, or TAG Match for short, was Staff Sgt.

FOZ DO IGUAZU, BRAZIL – Fifteen New York Army National Guard medics and physician assistants traveled to Brazil to participate in South America’s largest military humanitarian response exercise Aug. 12-18. The Soldiers, from the 466th Medical Company, Area Support, joined 100 other foreign military personnel from 13 countries and 1,700 Brazilians for Operation Parana III in Parana State.
