The longtime location of Goetsch’s Fresh Fruits & Veggies Farm Stand in Ottawa is for sale putting the farm stand’s future in jeopardy. The farm stand is located on Gentleman Road behind Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa and usually opens in May. “I was informed the other day that unbeknownst to me they were putting the farm up for sale,” owner Tim Goetsch posted Monday on the business’ Facebook page. “You work your whole life to build a reputation and in one minute it could be gone.

While living in San Antonio, Texas, Nancy Vaca attended many board and video game conventions and lounges where people gathered to play games like Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter. “After meeting tons of people in the community and hearing their stories wishing for a place like that nearby, I decided to open The Gamers Guild Lounge,” Vaca said. Nellie Roberts Curiosity Shop, 625 N. Main St., Princeton, recently opened a new antique mall, joining other area antique and collectable stores in the city. The shop has more than 15 dealers of antiques and collectables from vintage Teddy Bears, books, china, toys, dolls, vintage clothing and small furniture, among other items. A grand opening will be scheduled for Thursday, May 1, and will run through that weekend.

This is the last week for women’s boutique Bromley & Brown, 308 E. Main St., Streator. “Almost eight years ago, Mary (Bromley Zavada) and I opened our doors on Main Street and since then have had the honor of serving our community. It’s been a wild eight years, to say the least, but the boutique has taught me so much and molded me into the person I am today. For that, I am so grateful,” owner Abbey Brown posted on the business’ page. Her business partner and mother-in-law died in 2022.

The Milk Moustache in downtown Princeton is for sale. About 11 years ago, Mindy Fritz opened juniper & mae and about a year later opened The Milk Moustache. The women’s clothing store has since closed, but the children’s store remains and Fritz is looking for someone to carry on the business. “I have put a lot of love, sweat and tears into these buildings and running a small business, but it’s time for me to move on to my next chapter,” Fritz posted to the business’ social media Monday.
