Have you been following the odyssey of Louie and Ophelia, Wisconsin’s Escaped Otters? If not, you’re missing out. The pair escaped from the NEW Zoo and Adventure Park in Green Bay in March and have both been on the lam since – until now. Ophelia the river otter was trapped and secured on Friday, March 28 and returned to the New Zoo. Her return was not announced until the following Tuesday when her identity was confirmed by the zoo.

Have you spotted any otters on the loose lately? Two river otters escaped from NEW Zoo & Adventure Park in the Green Bay area last Thursday. Louie and Ophelia are river otters that live at NEW Zoo & Adventure Park in Green Bay. They made their escape from their shared habitat during a winter storm. The fresh snowfall allowed for an easy view of their tracks and the trail of their exploration.

The Historic Third Ward Association is holding a widespread bingo game to support some of Milwaukee’s Woman-owned stores. The game kicked off on Saturday, March 8, on International Woman’s Day and will run through Monday, March 31. It features over 20 woman-owned boutiques and restaurants in the Historic Third Ward. To start, participants can pick up a bingo card at any participating location. One card is permitted per person.

Alonzo Robinson Jr., the first Black licensed architect in Wisconsin, designed Milwaukee’s Central City Plaza, built in 1973. The plaza became home to 14 Black-owned businesses at a time when fewer than 1% of Wisconsin businesses were Black-owned. Two of Central City Plaza’s three buildings are now owned by the Salvation Army, which wants to demolish the building at 1747 N. Sixth St. to expand its homeless shelter services.
