Well folks, here we are in the midst of another holiday season. That means itâs time once again for Christmas lights, Mariah Carey only wanting you for Christmas, and pirates on parade. âWait a minute,â youâre probably saying to yourself now, âDid they just say âpirates on paradeâ?âYes. Yes we did. Thatâs because itâs that time once again for the annual Pirates of Fish River Christmas Parade in Baldwin County, Alabama.

In Georgia, where farming is more than a livelihood—it’s a way of life—Hurricane Helene tested those roots like few storms before. As the nation’s top pecan-producing state, Georgia takes great pride in its orchards and the farmers who tend them year after year. But Helene’s impact has left farms and rural communities with billions in damage, impacting pecan orchards especially hard and disrupting the broader supply chain.

Note from Rolando: For years now, I have been watching admiringly as Stephanie Stuckey has infused new life into her iconic family brand, Stuckey’s. What had been a roadside oasis of the 20th century, a cherished stop on countless family road trips, had almost disappeared by the time she took control in 2019 of the company her grandfather founded as a pecan stand in Eastman, Georgia, in 1937.

Happy Earth Day! Doing my part, one pecan at a time. #AmericasNativeNut #EarthDay https://t.co/pJy4TKPgbt

Just wrapped a 2-day pecan patrol hitting 21 retail partners across GA & Carolinas. Including a few like this…cue the tiny violin. 🎻 They were out of Stuckey’s Glazed Pecans. My snack soul was crushed. https://t.co/ct1Kljq0iG

Even the trash at our pecan plant looks like it belongs on a charcuterie board. I’m not saying I ate floor pecans…but I’m not not saying it either 😆 https://t.co/lX8znrhzTV
