I’m no stranger to looking inward. Let me explain. I’ve done “The Artist’s Way” and swear by morning pages. I free-write, light candles, and set intentions during new moon rituals when the mood strikes, meditate a few times a week (thanks to a Transcendental Meditation scholarship from the David Lynch Foundation), and when I need grounding, I reach for books by Tara Brach or Thich Nhat Hanh. Ah, summer. For me, this is the peak of the year: The golden sun, carefree mood, longer days, and boundless opportunities for discovery and play — what’s not to love? (Confession: I even like the heat.)Summer brings out my inner sense of joy and natural curiosity. Picnic in the park? Sure! Impromptu beach day next weekend? Yep, sign me up. A literary reading at an indie bookshop followed by happy hour spritzes at a French bar? My friend, you don’t even have to ask.

1 BREAST CANCER SURVIVORSHIP Breast cancer survivorship means different things to different people. According to its definition, breast cancer survivorship begins at diagnosis, continues during treatment, and maintains through the rest of life.1 A patient is considered “cancer free” after surgical resection essentially clears the body of cancer; adjuvant radiation and systemic therapy are aimed to keep that patient “cancer free” for the remainder of their life.
