YORKTOWN, Ind. – Music revival has taken over not only Yorktown, but also places around it. Muncie is one of the nearby cities that also favors this revival. At the Yorktown Public Library, books aren’t the only thing available. The librarians offer many teen and adult programs. On Tuesday, the library offered an adult-only music through the decades trivia night. This gave families and individuals something fun to do on an adult's night out.

Over 45,000 species are now threatened with extinction — 1,000 more than last year, according to an international conservation organization. On Thursday, the International Union for Conservation of Nature released its Red List of Threatened Species, which now lists 45,300 species threatened with extinction. More than 163,000 species were accessed this year. The organization says the IUCN Red List is a critical indicator of the health of the world’s biodiversity.

Solar storm: X8.7 solar flare erupts in largest of sun cycle

The sun emitted another strong solar flare on Tuesday – the largest flare in the solar cycle, according to air and space experts. NASA’s Solar Dynamic Observatory, which watches the sun constantly, captured an image of the event. According to the space agency, the flare peaked at 12:51 p.m. ET on May 14 and was classified as an X8.7. An X-class denotes the most intense flares, while the number provides more information about its strength.
