    A report from FTS has revealed what led Manchester fashion group In The Style to go into administration. The company, which originally operated on an influencer-based business model, was delivering 85% of its sales through influencer collections – ie where an personality helps to design and market the fashion in exchange for a financial return. This helped grow In The Style at speed and its listing on the AIM market, which valued it at more than £100m.

    Disney+ has confirmed details for two North West sports documentaries which head to the streaming service in April and May. The first is Flintoff, a 90-minute access documentary about England and Lancashire cricketer and presenter, Andrew “Freddie” Flintoff. Produced by South Shore, it will look back on his life and cricketing career, which saw him win 2 Ashes series and become a national sporting hero.

    Channel 4 has confirmed that Emmy award-winning Dougray Scott (Crime, My Week with Marilyn) is to lead the cast of Scottish drama, SummerwaterThe 6-part Scottish thriller is the debut production from Glasgow indie, Freedom Scripted. Based on the best-selling book of the same name by novelist Sarah Moss, it has just finished filming on location.

    Asda, has named its new creative and media agencies, following a competitive pitch. In the multi-agency process, it chose Lucky Generals as its new agency partner. It will replace Havas from May. Lucky Generals has offices in London and New York, but is a well known name in the North, working with major brands, including the Co-op and a long-time relationship with Taylors of Harrogate.

    The University of Greater Manchester (previously University of Bolton) has appointed Nick Richardson as its Entrepreneur in Residence. The founder of The Insights Family will share his expertise and experience with students and staff as part of the role, which will include guest lectures, mentoring and collaborative projects. “I am honoured to join the University of Greater Manchester as Entrepreneur in Residence,” said Richardson.
