The golden era of endurance racing continues unabated, with McLaren now confirming it’ll enter a hypercar at Le Mans in 2027. Among its dozen or more rivals on track will be this, the now full-scale, fully revealed Genesis GMR-001. If you’re unsure about a premium Korean brand taking on Ferrari, Porsche and Aston on the world stage, then the great minds leading the Genesis effort – including team principal Cyril Abiteboul – are shared with the Hyundai WRC campaign.

It’s probably fair to assume Genesis doesn’t feature too high up most PHers’ shortlists. While related to Hyundai in much the same way Lexus is to Toyota, the N Division magic and more general market understanding of the mainstream Koreans is yet to consistently feed upwards. Genesis initially launched in the UK with petrol and diesel saloons and shooting brakes; cool to people like us, but less so to those lobbing £300+ a month at a lease deal.

Singer is the new co-owner of Willow Springs International Raceway. It’s helping secure the future of the oldest permanent road course in the USA, which sits 80 miles north of Los Angeles and may be familiar to Gran Turismo or Forza gamers on our shores. The announcement should bring sighs of relief to local petrolheads; they may have feared for the worst when news broke in February that 62 years of family ownership was coming to an end as the track was sold to a private equity firm.

It feels safe to assume anything unveiled at Milan Design Week might skim past the enthusiast bullseye, however well-aimed. But this is unashamedly rather cool. Pairing up Lamborghini and Ducati feels like a shoo-in for easily won Italian pride, with the “third chapter” of their partnership being this new Ducati Panigale V4 Lamborghini.

Declaring our gratitude for a Ferrari might appear an open goal. This is hardly a left-field choice that will send shudders of controversy through the internet. Yet if we’d picked any of the Roma Spider’s predecessors, I fear your commenting fingers would already be itching. Imagine a California or Portofino aloft on this plinth rather than the sveltely styled, fabric-roofed Roma. It just wouldn’t quite fit, would it?

Over the moon to be 2024 Automotive Feature Writer of the Year - against some very talented competition. Freelance life is so fun and I get to work for titles (and with people) I've always admired. Getting to celebrate some of the work we've done together is ace.

Lots of lovely stuff in here, a fascinating chat with @Mikeconway26 tucked amongst it all. Brilliant to poke around Gazoo Racing's European base with him.

Save yourself a trip to the shops during this cold snap and pre-order the new issue of @evomagazine and have it delivered to your door. And yes, we did find 18 ‘hot* hatches’ to test. *some weren’t very hot at all https://t.co/aXFS4GnOvD https://t.co/TeDU2h7uQ1

Loved telling @GIrwinRacing's story. Give it a read!
