You believe in yourself.”Those were the words Hillsboro head coach Gary Breeden said to senior Isabelle Brunck before tapping her on the helmet as she went to the batter’s box in the top of the fourth inning as the Lady Indians trailed by one run with bases loaded and two outs. Brunck responded with a two-out, two-RBI single hit to right field, putting HHS in the lead for good.

    By Stephen Forsha, The Highland County Press Playing in late regular-season games before they start tournament play in Division V, the Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs gained non-conference wins over Indian Hill and New Richmond, as they gained their 18th and 19th wins of the season. On Monday, May 19, the Mustangs traveled to face the Indian Hill Braves in non-conference play and they returned home with an 11-7 win.

    By Stephen Forsha, The Highland County Press Playing a regular-season game in between district tournament games, the Whiteoak Wildcats lost at home to the Huntington Huntsmen in non-conference play by a 4-0 score. WHS finished with three hits and had one error, while Huntington had eight hits and one error. Whiteoak’s three hits were off the bats of Izayah Clift (1-for-4), Zander Roades (1-for-4) and Jacob Kiley (1-for-3).
