"It is What it Isn't' is a collection of new fiction, some previously published stories and non fiction from Stephen Higgins. The stories range from serious to comedic, so I guess that means there is something for everyone. Unless you like Westerns and Romance stories. To be honest there are hardly any Wild West references and probably even fewer romance tropes to be found. I'm sure one or two of the characters are fond of each other, but that hardly qualifies it on the Romance front.

Teach, by Stephen Higgins is an invaluable guide to new and newish teachers everywhere. Whilst it deals with life in an Australian secondary school, the insights and tips would be useful for all teachers. Teach gives an in depth guide into the vagaries of teaching teenagers. There is a detailed look at each year level with behavioural aspects peculiar to each and even a run down on what makes Year 9 students so, well, interesting. Teach is humourous, useful and entertainng.
