In an article titled “British Steel shut North East site after Richard Tice's firm threatened rent hike” published on 12 April 2025, we stated that the Darlington site closed after Mr Tice’s firm threatened to increase rent for the site. We would like to clarify that British Steel had announced the relocation of operations from that site to Skinningrove in 2021, before the firm became the landlord at Darlington. We apologise for the confusion and are happy to set the record straight.

It may surprise you, but this isn't especially a story about playing golf. Nor really an article about disability. I have to admit it was intended to be, but I came away from the day I spent with George Blackshaw - aka The Amputee Golfer - I realised this is a story about something more. I should begin by explaining I am far short of an expert golfer, having only taken up the sport in earnest last year.

SPYCATCHER (1.55) has a licence to thrill in the Qipco British Champions Sprint at Ascot on Saturday afternoon. Karl Burke’s six-year-old was stopped in his run when winding up to throw down a challenge in this race 12 months ago. It was a decent effort in the circumstances to finish third behind Art Power and Kinross, who he again faces today. There’s no doubt he has the ability to be competitive at this top level when he gets the breaks.
