ABSTRACTBackground Semantically varied verb production in people with aphasia has been studied; however, the evidence of heavy and light verb dissociation remains inconsistent, potentially due to methodological differences. Earlier methods used the frequency rate of heavy and light verb production. However, this approach may inflate the number of verbs produced, as it counts repetitive and contextually unrelated verbs.
