Canada has never embraced economic inequality to the extent it has over the past few years. Statistics Canada (Stat Can) data shows the household income gap continued to widen in 2024. A result of policies that favor one group at the expense of another, the income gap indicates rising household inequality. Rising income inequality has significant social liabilities, eroding quality of life and leading to increased political polarization.

Canada is seeing weak home sales, slowing population growth, and economic uncertainty. It’s the perfect recipe for… higher rental prices? A new report shows that rental prices made a sharp jump in March, amplifying already accelerated growth in small cities and traditionally cheaper purpose-built rentals.

Canada’s trade war with the world’s largest economy is a serious threat to its stability. In fact, it’s such an economic threat that almost no one is paying attention to another significant one—the trade war with the world’s second-largest economy, China. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) data shows new study permit applications fell sharply in January. Policymakers planned to throttle applications with caps, but the drop has been multiples of the planned reduction. Total new study permit applications received by the Government of Canada (GoC) IRCC. Hey 🇨🇦 👋 Friendly reminder to young adults—vote even if it looks like your candidate won’t win. - polls are junk & avg 1-3 people per riding. That’s not a measurement, it’s a sales pitch. - policies suck because politicians work for votes. Vote & they’ll work for you.

Folks in 🇨🇦 do this bizarre thing where they debate whether a deficit is good or bad without any regard for how it’s spent. Reading gov dept notes often shows they have no idea where to allocate. Folks often cheer on nothing but the commitment to pass debt onto the next gen.
