The Tshwane Emergency Services Department responded to a fire that occurred at a house in Matlhare Street in Mamelodi East on Friday. Emergency services spokesperson, Lindsay Zwelithini Mnguni said the fire was reported to the Emergency Communication Centre at 23:53. Firefighting resources were immediately dispatched from Mamelodi and Silverton fire stations to the scene. These included two fire engines and a water tanker.

The High Court in Pretoria will be temporarily closed today due to lack of power supply. The Office of the Chief Justice advised members of the public, court users and legal practitioners that the Gauteng Division of the High Court, Pretoria, would temporarily cease operations on Tuesday, 18 February, due to a power outage in the Tshwane CBD affecting the court. “The court’s generator is currently out of commission,” it said.
