The FCC’s Wireline Competition Bureau has released guidance regarding the transition from reporting geographic coordinates and addresses in the High-Cost Universal Broadband portal to reporting the Broadband Serviceable Location Fabric Location IDs associated with locations. This applies to Rural Digital Opportunity Fund, Bringing Puerto Rico Together Fund, and Connect USVI Fund carriers. The guidance is available on the FCC’s website.

Readers may recall that in February 2024, the FCC adopted a Report and Order imposing a number of new TCPA caller and texter compliance obligations in connection with consumer revocation requests, which are applicable to calls and text messages that otherwise require consent under the TCPA and the FCC’s rules. Those rules are slated to go into effect on April 11, 2025.

The FCC has adopted an Order on Reconsideration addressing several petitions for reconsideration in response to the Enhanced A-CAM Order, which created a mechanism to provide universal service high-cost support for deployment of 100/20 Mbps or better broadband service in rural areas served by A-CAM recipients and areas served by legacy rate-of-return support recipients.

Amdocs, Inc. has notified the Federal Communications Commission that it will not renew its initial five-year certification as a Spectrum Access System administrator. Thus, Amdocs will no longer provide SAS services nor accept Citizen Band Radio Service Device certifications as of April 21, 2025. To ensure a smooth transition, Amdocs will transfer all currently registered CBSDs to other FCC-approved SAS administrators by April 21, 2025.
