After a trial run last fall Texas A&M is getting more involved with NASCAR and even venturing into Indy Car Racing this year. The school announced in a Wednesday news release that it is partnering with the Haas Factory Team in NASCAR to become a season-long associate sponsor of the No. 41 car driven by Cole Custer.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott announced in a press release Wednesday that former College Station Mayor Karl Mooney has been appointed as the presiding officer of the Brazos County Regional Mobility Authority. The appointment is pending confirmation by the Texas Senate. Mooney’s term would run until an expiration date of Feb. 1, 2027. The outgoing chair of the BCRMA is Daniel B. “Barry” Moore whose term expired two months ago.
