Brownsville sees highest financial rating ever from S&P Global

S&P Global Ratings has raised its long-term financial rating for the city of Brownsville from AA to AA+, the highest rating the financial rating firm has ever given the city. S&P, which announced the news last Thursday, said the higher rating was applied to the city's "existing limited tax debt" as well as its "anticipated $54.46 million series 2025 combination tax revenue and revenue certificates of obligation.""The outlook is stable," the rating firm said.
