    Autonomous vehicle company Motional today named Laura Major president and CEO. Major was appointed by Motional’s Board of Directors following a successful tenure as CTO. The announcement comes as Motional prepares to launch its driverless commercial service in 2026. Major has served as Motional’s interim CEO since September 2024 when she took over for Karl Iagnemma, who stepped down. Iagnemma is now CEO of Vecna Robotics, a provider of warehouse automation systems.

    Meta today introduced V-JEPA 2, a 1.2-billion-parameter world model trained primarily on video to support understanding, prediction, and planning in robotic systems. Built on the Joint Embedding Predictive Architecture (JEPA), the model is designed to help robots and other “AI agents” navigate unfamiliar environments and tasks with limited domain-specific training. V-JEPA 2 follows a two-stage training process all without additional human annotation.

Based in Helsinki, Finland, Bluefors is a leading developer of cryogenic measurement systems, cryocoolers and other cryogenic product lines for quantum technology, fundamental physics research and other industries such as life sciences and clean energy. Teradyne Robotics announced the leadership change last week, saying Povlsen left Universal Robots (UR) to pursue and external career opportunity.
