Send yourself happy and glorious by backing SOUNDS VICTORIUS (3.20) in the Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle. This Grade 1 contest, run over 3m, is always a strong test of stamina and that is right up my fancy’s street. He had enough class to finish sixth behind his Willie Mullins stablemate Jasmin De Vaux in the Champion Bumper at last year’s Festival. Since switching to hurdles it’s been clear that he is a strong stayer.

Make it Personal in the TrustATrader Plate Handicap Chase. PERSONAL AMBITION (4.40) beat Tuesday’s Arkle hero Jango Baie over hurdles last season and he’s shown loads of promise in four chase starts. He was unlucky not to beat prolific winner Mark Of Gold at Ascot just before Christmas when a blunder at the final fence cost him victory. That was harsh on Ben Pauling’s runner as he had jumped well in the lead before his costly error.
