Two men were put behind bars after reportedly fleeing Bibb County deputies on April 30. According to the incident report, Cpl. Calloway and other deputies were searching for a stolen blue Kia Optima in the area of Mercer University Drive after an alert from a FLOCK camera. While at the intersection of Florence Avenue, Calloway spotted the vehicle with a male driver and male passenger and immediately initiated a traffic stop, activating his lights and sirens.

After an 18-month investigation, Bibb County sheriff’s investigators charged Jessica Lynn McGuinness, a former employee of Dr. Gardiner’s, and her roommate, Barbara Jane Kosciolek, on June 5 with multiple thefts from Gardiner that included a car, a hot tub, an above-ground swimming pool, a home security system and a trip to Orlando.

A 45-year-old Forsyth woman in the Monroe County Jail apparently doesn’t appreciate jailhouse food, assaulting a jailer as he served her meals on consecutive days last week. According to the incident reports, jailer Harold Short was passing out breakfast to inmates in the holding cells around 9:06 a.m. on June 2 when he opened the door to cell 221, which held Nichelle Buckner, of 10 Mitchell Road, Forsyth. Once the door was opened, Buckner hit Short’s hands and pushed the food from his hands.
