Something interesting happened in the sports world in 2024. The WNBA exploded on the national scene as two rookies, Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark dominated not just the league, but the talk about the league. It was a far cry from June 1997 when the New York Liberty beat the Los Angeles Sparks 67-57 in LA in the league’s inaugural game. Since that inaugural game at The Forum, the league has toiled in relative quiet. They would hold a draft, and play on television, but overall, things were status quo.
