We covered a hell of a lot of ground in 20 minutes!

This week on LOW ROLLERS, @SteveRuddock joins us to weigh in on the casino "cannibalism" issue, the favorites in the downstate New York casino bidding, how the Illinois tax madness will impact the sports betting business, and more.

This is accurate

During an industry Q&A, I was recently asked "if the states can't regulate prediction markets, what's to prevent these markets from offering casino contracts?" My response: "Nothing." And I stand by that, at least for the duration of this administration.

As I've said all along, this is going to play out in the courts (tiny possibility in Congress), but how it gets to the SCOTUS is going to be a considerable factor. It looks like Kalshi has an open invitation to do as it pleases until then.

No one to stop them (thus far), and seems the only limiting factor is what the correct pace is for introducing these new products that minimizes blowback from the states Horse seems well clear of the barn at the moment
