    An "extremely rare" postcard written by a Titanic passenger who died after the liner hit an iceberg on 14 April 1912 has fetched £20,000 at auction. First-class passenger Richard William Smith wrote to a friend in Norwich when the liner was at Queenstown - near Cork - in Munster, Ireland, on 11 April 1912.

Rocky the seal had to be rescued by divers after being found exhausted and unwell at a harbour in Jersey in October.

    A swimming pool which was forced to close in August after a glass roof panel was damaged is due to finally reopen next month. Initially the Kingfisher Leisure Centre pool in Sudbury, Suffolk, was only due to be shut until mid-September. But then inspectors realised that other panels were also affected, leading to further delays. The facility will reopen on 11 December, but with interim safety measures in place.

    The timetable to unveil designs for a new-look football stadium has been delayed, according to the club's chief executive. Alex Tunbridge had hoped to set out the plans for Cambridge United's ground in the summer, but now admits they will not be ready until the end of the year. The club wants to increase the capacity of the Cledara Abbey Stadium to about 12,000 as well as building a new shop, museum and offices. United still hope to submit a planning application by the summer of 2025.
