Mild Today, But Very Warm On Saturday!

Today will feature a mix of sunshine and clouds along with milder temperatures in the upper 50s. We now turn our attention to Saturday–the day will start with a partial solar eclipse. Due to lots of clouds and showers, there is a high chance we won’t see it. Remember with a solar eclipse you need protective glasses! But that’s not the only interesting part about Saturday. A stationary front will set up across Southern New England.

Wednesday will be a beautiful and delightful day with highs in the 50s and 60s! See the high temperatures for tomorrow below. A Flood Warning is up for the Connecticut River until further notice due to all the heavy rain and melting snow up north over the past 36 hours. Another round of rain will come through Thursday night & Friday that could even end as a little wet snow inland. Spring officially arrives Thursday at 5:01 AM!Tonight: Mainly clear & chilly. We’re tracking a potent storm ahead of a cold front for this evening expected to bring heavy rain across the state. Overnight we could have a couple isolated thunderstorms and even minor flooding concerns as that rain really pours down. The wind will also continue to gust up to 40 MPH.

Today will start off cold but end up milder in the afternoon. Highs will be in the mid to upper 40s. Clouds roll in tonight with lots of rain on tap for Wednesday. The morning hours on Wednesday will feature some spotty drizzle and fog, then a steady and heavier rain/thunder/local flooding during the mid afternoon and evening. Gale Watch is in effect for Long Island Sound on Wednesday evening. The stormy weather will depart after midnight Wednesday night.

There is a WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY statewide overnight into tomorrow. Around midnight, some of the snow changes over to freezing rain mixed with sleet and that could make the roads very icy. The frozen mix continues tomorrow for much of the day in northern counties, meanwhile the southern areas should see just rain. Watch for slick/slippery spots heading out – it just takes a little ice to make things messy. Wind also picks up with a HIGH WIND WATCH Sunday evening into Monday.

A very busy pattern ahead with several fronts coming through and associated temperature changes to keep track of, but, no significant precipitation!! Light snow develops later tonight as milder air approaches and some January thaw 40s follow tomorrow. Temperature downs & ups continue through this weekend! We are still watching a close system Friday with some rain or a mix and another for late Sunday with some light snow possible. Tonight: Cloudy with scattered snow showers.
