Although this will be one of my first positive sentiments about WITCH WATCH, most proponents will likely not agree with me when I say that episode #5 is one of the better episodes — not counting the first of course for obvious reasons. In fact, I even enjoyed all three of episode #5’s separate short stories (“My Student is my Favorite Artist,” “My Tummy Is Tender Today,” and “Cat Scout,”) as opposed to two or just one.

Or, to be more precise, it should have come no later than episode #2. And, no, it shouldn’t have been saved for episode #3 to comply with that annoying third episode rule, either. What makes My Hero Academia: Vigilantes episode #5 work so well is that it builds upon the characters and their relationships.

The Shiunji Family Children has pretty much broken with its initial promising formula and gone with what could very well be an all-out major event/emotional war. I really can’t say if this will be successful or if I will even like where it goes, but it’s obvious that this is where we’re headed regardless, and we might as well try and enjoy the ride. Essentially, this big “war” has been put in motion by — surprise, surprise — a classic miscommunication.
