I want to wish my first cousin Geneva 'Cookie' Hawkins a happy 69th birthday, which would be September 2nd, 2025. My dear cousin Geneva is named after my father's big sister, Aunt Geneva Hawkins, who died back in 1989. Cousin Geneva has one daughter and is a doting aunt to her five nieces, Julie, Tanika, Toni, Takira, and Kim Hawkins. And I look forward to our annual 2025 Hawkins family reunion that will actually be down in the City of Charleston during November 2025 this year.

The city of Charleston has always been a beautiful city to visit through the years. And being from the Upstate of South Carolina, I have always thought it was a coastal, old, colonial city and a home away from home. The restaurants, tourist venues, museums, and hotels of the Holy City are top-notch and headline as a world-class city.

The City of Folly Beach, located in the Lowcountry Charleston, SC area, is a great, quaint little place. When my family and friends always visit around the Interstate 26 area when they are visiting from Upstate South Carolina, we always drive to Folly Beach. You could find this beach area location going down Interstate 26 east, which merges with South Carolina Highway 30 west, when you continue straight on State Highway 171.

Sheriff Carl Ritchie has been involved with law enforcement and police work for 33 years in the Charleston area. And all of his family was there at his swearing-in at the Charleston County Council chamber back on January 7th, 2025. And the five-point plan that Ritchie campaigned for is the right move to end crime in the Charleston area.
