TEXARKANA, Ark. -- Criminal charges are unlikely in a fatal pedestrian-vehicle accident in February. Stephenette Dansby, 69, was crossing the roadway on foot in the 1700 block of East Ninth Street when she was hit by a westbound 2004 Ford Expedition, according to an Arkansas State Police report. The crash happened about 9:30 p.m. The report describes the weather as cloudy and the road as wet. Dansby died at the scene despite life-saving measures by witnesses and first responders.
