The Trail RCMP have released their first quarterstatistics for 2025, and they say they are comparable to this time last year. “Usually there’s a slightly less call volume before the spring and summer kick into full gear and we get very busy with those calls due to the nice weather and people traveling and being out and about.” said Trail RCMP Sgt. Nelson Fire & Rescue Service has approved the residential burn period for this year, running from March 30 to May 12. The fire service says the primary focus of the backyard burning period is to minimize the risk of a fire posed by ground fuels ahead of the wildfire season. Only non-compostable woody debris, such as clean, dry wood present after residential yard clean-ups, is permitted during this burn.
