    Many congratulations to Clive Morley (pictured, left) who has been named as the BDC’s Racing Driver of the Year for 2024.   In being awarded the Frank Clement Memorial Trophy, experienced racer Clive became the first driver to achieve the accolade three times – having previously won in 2020 and 2021.

    Harry Johnson has been appointed as the new Competitions Captain of the BDC, it has been announced. The Club’s Main Board is delighted that Harry has agreed to take up the position. The Board will continue to support the Club’s long-standing commitment to its competitions activities and work with Harry to broaden this area of the Club. Harry has succeeded Ben Eastick who has resigned due to family-business commitments, and the Board is very grateful for his contribution.

    Clive Morley scored a dominant victory in the John Duff Trophy & Frank Clement Cup race, to commemorate the centenary of Bentley’s first win (of six) in the famous Le Mans 24 Hours, at the 76th BDC Silverstone on Saturday. Clive, driving a 3/4½ Litre (no124, pictured), won the 40-minute race for Vintage Bentleys by almost 52 seconds, having started from pole position and leading throughout.

    A Bentley Continental GT race car has been unveiled by the Bentley Drivers Club with a view to launching a new affordable one-make race series specifically for these models. The powerful 650hp car has been conceived by the BDC in conjunction with motorsport specialists M-Sport, and will be launched with a static display at the Club’s annual race meeting at Silverstone on Saturday 10 August.

    Huge congratulations to Trevor Kells whose superbly well restored 1936 4½ Litre Tourer, clothed in eye-catching Vanden Plas bodywork, was named as the overall Concours winner at the BDC's 76th Summer Concours. The event was held yesterday in the idyllic rural surroundings of the 65-acre Walton Hall country estate in Warwickshire.
