    Homicide detectives have been called in to investigate after a body was found in bushland in Sydney's west on Sunday. Shortly after 1pm, officers were called to a park on Irwin Street at Werrington, around 50 kilometres west of Sydney's CBD. There, they discovered the body of a person who is yet to be formally identified. Detectives from the Nepean region have begun an investigation, assisted by officers from the NSW Homicide Squad.

The SES carried out 177 flood rescues across the state over the past 24 hours.

    US singer and songwriter Chris Brown has been arrested in the UK over allegations he was involved in the attack of another music producer at a London nightclub in 2023. Brown is accused of causing grievous bodily harm to music producer Abe Diaw at "The Tape" nightclub in London in early 2023. In a statement to the BBC, the Metropolitan Police said officers travelled to Manchester to arrest 36-year-old Brown after learning of his presence in the UK.

    Australian real estate website Domain will be sold to US real estate giant CoStar in a deal worth almost $3 billion. Nine, the publisher of this website, owns 60 per cent of Domain and will receive around $1.4 billion if the deal is approved. In a statement to shareholders this morning, Domain said it had entered into a scheme implementation deed with CoStar for it to acquire 100 per cent of the company at $4.43 a share.

    Teal Independent Kate Chaney looks on track to shut out Liberal rising star Tom White in Curtin as Labor retains its stronghold on Western Australia. Chaney is predicted to retain the seat - a blue-ribbon locale home to some of the Liberal Party's most affluent backers - for a second term running. With more than 60 per cent of the vote counted, Chaney will retain the seat on preferences after securing a 5 per cent swing.
