    Australian real estate website Domain will be sold to US real estate giant CoStar in a deal worth almost $3 billion. Nine, the publisher of this website, owns 60 per cent of Domain and will receive around $1.4 billion if the deal is approved. In a statement to shareholders this morning, Domain said it had entered into a scheme implementation deed with CoStar for it to acquire 100 per cent of the company at $4.43 a share.

    A major highway on the NSW Central Coast has been closed in one direction and dozens of cars have suffered shredded tyres after a truck dropped metal debris over the roadway. The M1 is currently closed southbound from Ourimbah to Mount White, a section of motorway almost 30 kilometres long. It is estimated as many as 50 cars have suffered tyre damage as a result of the spill.B-Doubles are being parked on the roadside and motorists have been urged to allow for extra of travel time.

    Australia's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate has edged higher to 4.1 per cent in March as 3000 people left the workforce. New data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) revealed that despite unemployment increasing slightly, more than 32,000 people found work in March. Sean Crick, ABS head of labour statistics, said the annual growth of people entering employment was at a 20-year high.

    An amber alert has been issued for a three-year-old boy believed to have been taken from a Gold Coast suburb overnight. Queensland Police are seeking urgent assistance from the public to find the three-year-old, who detectives say was taken from a home in Vine Circuit at Oxenford around 11.30pm. Police say the boy is with a woman known to him, and may be at "significant risk".
