Perhaps the main drawback of life as a digital freelancer / small business is the potential for it to feel like a solitary experience. Essentially I do the majority of my work on my own, on a laptop, which on many projects can mean little interaction with clients or collaborators on a day-to-day basis. This has been the case for the majority of my working life.

For my latest side project I was interested to see if I could create a small sandbox game that could be played by multiple people in a live setting using their own phones. I’m keen to do more work in immersive and live events so I thought this would be an interesting experiment, but could also become a good example for potential work or become a bigger project at a later date. For this initial test I was aiming for vehicles driving around an arena or a block building sandbox.

Oil surged as the fighting threatened to inflame tensions in the Middle East, home to almost a third of global supply.
