Given Ipswich’s population of around 140,000, a remarkable number of players have made a mark at their hometown club over the years. There’s been Jason Dozzell, Richard Wright, Kieron Dyer, Titus Bramble, Luke Hyam and Andre Dozzell. We’ve currently got Luke Woolfenden, Harry Clarke and Cameron Humphreys. Is it time now for a striker to join that list? We had a brief taste of it with Macauley Bonne in 2021, but he was on loan.

The 17-year-old winger joined the club last summer following a trial. Nicolaou was a regular with the David Wright's U18s side last season and featured for John McGreal's U21s towards the end of the campaign. The teenager won one cap for England at U15 level and qualifies to play international football for Cyprus.

It wasn’t enough to beat the drop, with Kieran McKenna’s men finishing 19th with just 22 points to their name. Already, 12-goal talisman Liam Delap, a £15m addition from Man City, has made a £30m switch to Chelsea after a relegation release clause was triggered.

TIME TO SAY GOODBYE There's added emotion attached to this goodbye. There's the natural sadness that will accompany the departure of any of the players who played key roles in back-to-back promotions. There's frustration/disappointment that someone who, by general consensus, is at the peak of their powers and could still do a very good job for the team has walked away for nothing.

Kudos to ⁦@TheAssemblyNC⁩ for reporting #RealNews and committing #ActsOfJournalism I’m hard pressed to think of another “newsroom” that would break a story like this. https://t.co/DQKAvsHNq0

Not sure if it’s implication or inference. It is called the SOUTHERN Baptist Convention for a reason and there are certain qualities of evangelical fundamentalism which are peculiar to the former confederacy. But you’re right: the South holds no monopoly on evangelicalism

@StuartCLT I found your implication interesting that only southerners are evangelical/understand evangelical Christianity. A view you wouldn’t get growing up elsewhere. I get the Bible Belt reference, but your statement is still hyperbole. Southerners haven’t cornered the market on this.
