Visible-light triggered Cu-catalyzed C─H bond activation to afford isocoumarin and isoquinolinone scaffolds at room temperature We report a visible light induced copper salt mediated novel approach for the synthesis of a series of isocoumarin and isoquinolinone scaffolds including 27 new compounds at room temperature for the first time in excellent yields without any additive, ligand template, oxidant or external photocatalyst.
