Retail is the third largest sector in the Indian economy, with more than 12% contribution to GDP. In addition to employing more than five crore workers, the retail sector provides significant indirect employment in adjacent sectors such as warehousing, logistics, construction and packaging. As such, the retail sector’s growth is intricately linked to India’s growth.
