One thing I learned quickly as a mom is that finding your village is everything. But finding your village looks different to everyone. For me and thousands of other #Pelotonmoms that village looks like a stationary bike with a screen that unlocks fitness content and instructors who know exactly how to uplift, motivate, and empower. Peloton has served as a virtual community for me since 2020, and I love knowing that I’m not alone.

Of all of our toys at home (and we have a large collection), LEGO is some of the best. My kids have been building with LEGO since my husband’s DUPLO sets were passed down by my in-laws. They have graduated to age-appropriate building sets and creating their own masterpieces at home. We often build together as a family too. From LEGO floral sets to mini witches and trains, there’s always a LEGO project that starts with what seems like a million pieces scattered around (if you know, you know).

As a fully bilingual Latina raising multicultural kids, I have always envisioned myself passing down the Spanish language to them. Since their infancy, I have made an effort to buy bilingual books, play Latin music, and teach Spanish sight words to my children. Despite this, my two kids, ages 4 and 8, are still primarily English-dominant. I’ve had guilt over this since the ‘one-person, one-language’ method just didn’t work for us.

The narrative about equal partnerships is trending and evolving on social media, and I’m here for it. As a wife and working mom of two, I strongly value my work/life balance and how my husband and I navigate our busy schedules, keep sane, and maintain a healthy, loving relationship. It’s no easy task and we’re far from perfect (just ask our couple’s therapist).
