The European Commission has committed €86 million (£73.68m) for new projects aimed at improving climate resilience and water security whilst reducing greenhouse gas emissions. It is provding the funding under the LIFE Programme, with the aim of improving water quality and availability, cleaning up polluted rivers, improving fire and flood protection and cutting emissions.

RWE and the town of Bedburg are taking a major step forward in Germany’s energy transition, with the construction of a new 60MW wind farm. Windpark Bedburg 3, which will be located on recultivated land at the Garzweiler open-cast mine, will consist of nine turbines. Seven of the turbines will have a capacity of 7MW each while the remaining two will each generate 5.7MW. The wind farm is expected to supply enough green electricity to power around 36,500 homes once fully operational by late 2026.

I have explored money several times on the Net Hero Podcast and the reason is simple this is going to cost us all!The real question is who pays, is it us the public via our taxes which become subsidy or should it be the commercial sector, private investors? The launch of GB Energy was supposed to do that – get private cash backing net zero because the government backs net zero. But the market turmoil lately the Trump push for fossil fuels, has caused confusion so is there cash for the transition?

West Sussex County Council had launched a public consultation on plans to install dozens of new charging points across the county. The proposals, part of the West Sussex Chargepoint Network, is part of the county council’s efforts to support the shift to electric vehicles (EVs). They include more than 35 new locations equipped with dual-socket charge points—capable of charging two vehicles at once—and additional underground wiring for future expansion.
