One of the experts who addressed the CannaPro Summit Saturday was Joanne Moorhead, executive director of the V.I. Office of Cannabis Regulation, who fielded questions from the audience as the territory prepares to approve the first applications to cultivate by June 13. St. Thomas and St. Croix will each be granted 15 cultivation licenses, while St. John will receive five. Eventually, the two larger islands will license seven dispensaries apiece, with three dispensaries planned for St. John.

DeSoto County Dining Week returns for its second year, April 7-13, covering local restaurants in Southaven, Olive Branch, Horn Lake, Hernando, and Nesbit. DeSoto County Dining Week returns for its second year, April 7-13. Jon Frost, DeSoto County Tourism director, said the week was inspired in part by ones he experienced when he lived in Las Vegas, as well as Memphis' Downtown Dining Week. He also credits his wife. "As far as our household, I'm the boring eater," Frost said.

Last year, when organizers with Mempho Presents were putting together the first SmokeSlam BBQ Festival, they leaned into what they knew — putting on concerts. Mempho Presents is the promotion company behind such music festivals as Mempho Fest, the Outlaw Music Festival, and the RiverBeat Music Festival.

Railgarten, the outdoor/indoor venue at 2166 Central Ave., has closed for good and the property listed for sale. Colliers' Ed Thomas and Andrew Phillips are representing the seller, Susan Kay Schwartz Living Trust, in the offering. Railgarten opened in 2017. It was temporarily shut down soon after due to code violations.
