Recently, a letter-writer suggested reversing the traffic flow on 5th and 6th Avenues to make drop-offs at the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts easier and safer. We think two simpler and cheaper measures should be considered before anything so drastic as reversing the traffic flows in the heart of the city.

In the Our View editorial printed in your newspaper on Thursday, November 2, the Sheriff’s office was criticized for remaining silent for five hours on the escapee incident. This is simply not true. The escape occurred at 8 p.m. Tuesday night. The Columbus and Tupelo TV stations reported the escape on the late evening news within two hours.
