    A crash has caused a lane closure and queuing traffic on the M6 this afternoon. Traffic is currently queuing due to an accident on M6 Southbound from J33 A6 Preston Lancaster Road (Lancaster South / Garstang) to J32 M55 (Broughton Interchange). According to AA traffic maps, there are severe delays on this stretch of the motorway as a result of the incident. The delays are increasing here too. The average speed between J33 and J32 is currently at ten mph.

    A man in his 20s who died after being struck by a car in Cumbria has been named by police. Cain Pears was killed in an incident involving a red Ford Fiesta happened at around 3.20am on the A595 between Whitehaven and Workington. The crash occurred this morning (Monday, May 26) when 20-year-old Cain was declared dead at the scene. The family of Cain, from Ellerbeck Lane Workington, have paid tribute to him in the wake of his passing.

    A hospital trust in Lancashire will receive state-of-the-art radiotherapy machines to speed up cancer treatment. Ministers have announced a £70 million Government investment will see linear accelerator (Linac) machines rolled out at hospitals across the nation from August. In Lancashire, the machines will be introduced to Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, covering Royal Preston Hospital and Chorley and South Ribble Hospital.

    The most and least expensive seaside towns have been named in a brand new list - and some of them might surprise you. Sandbanks in Dorset has been named as the most expensive seaside location in Britain, with the average house price at £965,708 last year, according to Lloyds. However, if this is a little bit out of your price range, the least expensive destinations have also been listed. Two in Lancashire have made it on to this list - Fleetwood and Blackpool.
