Harrison is preparing to celebrate the Christmas season with the Annual Winterfest on Dec. 14. The event is a collaboration between the Harrison Community Baptist Church and the Harrison Park Project. The town events are from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. followed by a Christmas program and prizes at the Harrison Community Baptist Church at 6 p.m.Most of the businesses along Main Street will be open to welcome Christmas shoppers.

Tom Breihan and I both got started as music writers at Baltimore City Paper around the same time in the mid-2000s, and when he still lived in Maryland I'd hang with him and his brother Jim. So I was really happy for Tom when he published his first book a few months ago, he's genuinely maybe the nicest person I know in this business and a great writer.
