There are various ongoing projects at the moment which have DC schemes at the heart of proposals for change. Firstly, there is the Government’s wide-ranging pensions ecosystem review, Phase 1 of which is looking at various issues in relation to DC pension schemes, including encouraging DC consolidation.

There are a lot of new actions for governing bodies coming out of the General Code (particularly around climate change, cyber security and their approach to risk management more generally) but it is also expected that they should be doing most of it already The Pensions Regulator (TPR) has finally issued its new General Code of Practice (the Code). It has been laid before Parliament and is expected to come into force on 27 March.
