Following this month’s Supreme Court ruling on the definition of biological sex, which gives back to women rights that are solely the preserve of those with female biology, there have been endless discussions about where men who identify as women pee. Sorry lads, it’s not my problem. There have never been enough women’s toilets as it is. But this glib response is a way to avoid dealing with much bigger issues.

Like Campbell, I know trans people as well as kids and always have. Some are happy and some are not, and I have also met detransitioners who are left with mutilated bodies, infertility and osteoporosis. They have been sold a lie. You cannot change sex and, medicalising children for the rest of their lives only profits dubious doctors.
