Like many of you, I read Tim Bousquet’s article on the erosion of The Coast with fascination and great disappointment. I am one of many, many Halifax writers who got their first bylines at The Coast. I did some freelance work for the paper in 2003, a year after graduating from journalism school. But I read The Coast long before that. It was often distributed to Halifax bars where I worked. I enjoyed the articles, of course, but The Coast had excellent cover designs and photographs.
