    Group Rhodes, one of the UK’s largest original equipment manufacturers, has been granted patents in Europe and China for its industry leading Superplastic Forming (SPF) and Diffusion Bonding (DB) technology. This technology, which is used in the production of large, complex components involves the diffusion bonding of multiple layers of titanium sheet at selected points, which can then be superplastically formed using inert (argon) gas to inflate the sheets into the shape of a hollow die.

    The impact of component and skills shortages is being felt by manufacturers in the electronics, telecoms and electricals sectors, according to a new report. Small and medium-sized firms in the sector ranked among the lowest in the latest Manufacturers’ Health Index, compiled quarterly by inventory software brand Unleashed. The electronics and telecommunication category scored just 38 out of 100, while the electrical and electrical components industry scored 48.

    Honeywell and Analog Devices have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding to explore the digitisation of commercial buildings by upgrading to digital connectivity technologies without replacing existing wiring, which will help reduce cost, waste, and downtime. The strategic alliance would bring this new technology to building management systems for the first time.
