In una Cecoslovacchia comunista e fortemente industrializzata, la rivoluzione democratica del 1989 ha portato importanti risultati ambientali negli anni ’90. Nella Repubblica Ceca di oggi, questo slancio ambientale si è indebolito: nell’Ue, è tra i paesi a più alta intensità di carbonio, e i magnati dei combustibili fossili controllano la maggior parte dei media. Pochi esempi, quanto il dibattito sullacrisi climatica, sono eloquenti rispetto alla confusione che governa la vita pubblica ceca oggi.
